Spinnaker x Islander Bradner Limited Edition Compressor Style Watch with Blue and Orange Dial #SP-5062-LIW44

Spinnaker and Islander have teamed up this time to bring you 4 new Limited Edition models, sold exclusively at Island Watch. The Bradner collaboration consists of 4 watches, individually numbered - there are 50 pieces of each color. They all share the same base, varying in colorway. The four colors are: 1) blue and orange, 2) burnt orange 3) black and purple and 4) mint green. Each is matched to an amazing bezel and bonus rubber strap. First, they are powered by the Seiko NH35 movement. This 24 jewel Japanese automatic movement beats at 21,600 beats per hour, which results in a smooth seconds hand that start and stops 6 times per second. With a 40 hour power reserve, you will find it ready for you each morning to be your daily companion.

It is sized with wrist presence in mind– 42mm in diameter and 49.5mm from lug to lug. The watch dial is protected with a box sapphire crystal, which is the most expensive type of crystal – the geometry ramps up quickly at the edge, providing a great visual effect off-angle. Including the box sapphire, it is 14.5mm thick. The dial shares both the Spinnaker name at the top, and our Islander logo at the bottom, along with the text “Limited Edition” emblazoned at the 6:00 position. As a final nod to the collaboration, each compressor case crown is dressed in the Spinnaker and Islander logos, with the top crown being anodized in an accent color. The Bradner timepiece is a vintage diver, developed with a compressor style case with a bi-directional turning bezel. While the watch has an unabashedly vintage aesthetic about it, it has been designed and manufactured to leverage the best of modern-day watchmaking.

Most notably the inner-turning bezel is a custom molded ring with five minute markers positioned at a straight horizontal, parallel to the dial for easy viewing. Beyond this, a liberal application of Swiss Super-LumiNova on the ring has been undertaken to give this elapsed time measurement greater visibility in lower light conditions. The main dial also holds an applied minute marker ring and a square-shaped index that matches the baton-shaped hands. All of which have also been layered with Swiss Super-LumiNova material.

The two crowns sit at the 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock positions, operating time adjustment and bezel setting respectively. The lugs are proportioned appropriately and sloped down to create a snug fit over the wrist as it sits attached by “beads of rice” stainless steel bracelet, complete with diver’s extension deployant buckle. Also included, is a matching rubber strap should you wish to change the look.
